Three generations,one house, no schedule.
An anonymized week from the houses: three generations, a gulf-front porch, and how eight people vacation together without managing each other.
[ nothing scheduled but dinner. it held. ]

The short version
One week, retold with the names removed: a party of eight spanning three generations took a gulf-front house on Anna Maria Island for seven nights in late spring. The week worked because nothing was scheduled except dinner: the house was provisioned before arrival, the concierge held one thread for the whole party, a boat took Thursday, the table no one else could get took Friday, and the porch absorbed every hour nobody claimed. Eight people, one house, zero group texts about logistics.
The shape of the week
The party landed Saturday to a stocked kitchen and a cold bottle open on the counter, which settled the first evening before it could become an errand. Sunday set the pattern: the early risers walked the tideline at seven, the children swam the warm shallows by nine, the grandparents held the porch through the heat, and the whole eight assembled only at dusk, at the long table, because that was the one appointment the week recognized.
Monday through Wednesday blurred pleasantly on purpose. The trolley carried the restless end of the party to Bean Point and back; the notebook fielded a paddleboard, a grocery run and one broken sandal strap; nobody once asked the question that sinks group vacations, which is what is everyone doing today.
The two set pieces
Thursday was the boat: a captained morning on the water, sandbar swim, dolphins on the bow wake as advertised by every brochure ever printed, and the children asleep by eight. Friday was the table no one else could get, held for the whole party at the hour they wanted it, and the adults had the dinner that becomes the week's headline memory while a car waited to carry everyone home.
Saturday they left, and the turnover crew found what the good weeks always leave: sand in the outdoor shower, one glass on the porch rail, and a note on the counter asking for the same week next year. That note is the entire business model, in one sentence, in someone else's handwriting.
