One week's requests,in the order they landed.

A boat, a birthday cake, a pediatrician, a tide chart, a table for nine: one anonymized week from the concierge's notebook, and what the job actually is.

The week, kept in longhand.

The short version

The concierge is one named person who takes every request for the length of a stay, from the chartered boat to the forgotten phone charger, through one thread. The job is not knowing everything; it is knowing who does, holding the standing relationships with the captains, drivers and fixers of the coast, and answering fast enough that the party never starts solving problems themselves. One week's notebook, anonymized, tells the whole story better than a service page ever could.

Monday to Wednesday

Monday, before arrival: the provisioning note lands, plus a request for a highchair and a blender that can crush ice properly. Tuesday, first morning: a boat for Thursday, nothing serious, the party wants sandbars and a swim, and a dinner reservation for nine on Friday that the internet says is impossible. The reservation takes one call, because the coast is small and we eat there too.

Wednesday is the day that explains the job: a child's ear hurts. The notebook's answer is the pediatric clinic that sees visitors same-day, the pharmacy that delivers to the island, and a message to the house an hour later asking how she is. None of that is glamorous, and all of it is the service.

Thursday to Sunday

Thursday's boat goes out with a cooler the kitchen packed. Friday adds a birthday nobody mentioned at booking: a cake from the bakery that actually bakes, candles, and the restaurant tipped off to hold the corner table. Saturday is quiet, which is its own success, one tide-chart question and a late request for two more beach chairs.

Sunday, departure: cars timed to the flight, a forgotten charger posted on Monday, and the notebook closed with the only metric that matters, a week in which the party asked for things instead of arranging them. That is the entire product, and the house is only where it happens.
